Institute of Modern and Contemporary History of Inner Mongolia was established in 1982. It belongs to the same discipline(Mongolian History)with Mongolian History Institute.Now it has an authorized centre for doctoral degree of Chinese History first level discipline and 3 authorized centers for master degree of   History of Mongolia and the Northern Nationalities, China's Modern History, and Studies of Historical Philology (in the direction of modern history )with the main research direction of Modern and Contemporary Mongolian history, History of Inner Mongolia Region. After nearly 40 years of construction and the rapid development of the research of modern and contemporary history of Inner Mongolia, the academic field has extended from a single regional history to history of the party (revolution history),and to the entire political history and social history of the whole Mongolian nationality region.The achievements in the history of Inner Mongolia region, the modern Mongolian ethnic movement, Mongolian social change, the Communist International,and Mongolian revolution have been remarkable.There are 9 scientific researchers, including 2 professors,3 associate professors and 4 lecturers,2 doctoral supervisors and 4 master supervisors.
